Since majority of Destin’s coast faces south, you’ll experience the sunset at an angle, so you want to make sure you’re in the right place at the right time to experience a Destin sunset that paints an unforgettable image.

3. Norriego Point

Norriego Point, a public beach area in Destin Florida, has a white sand peninsula extending out into the water between Destin Harbor and the East Pass. Viewers from this location will watch the sun set behind the Destin Bridge. The point is not as well-known and easily accessible as other sunset locations, which is why it is found to be a little quieter and more reserved.
4. Destin Jetties

Destin Jetties or Jetty Beach is the closest thing you will get to a beach sunset during the summer months. This viewing spot is even more secluded than Norriego Point as you must drive along some less-known roads and walk 300 yards to get to the shoreline. However, once you arrive, the expansive view of the beach, Destin Bridge, and East Pass waters make the journey there worth it.
Bonus: Dolphins and sea turtles are known to frequent the Destin Jetties. If you want to check the water for sea creatures, make sure to arrive when there’s still a decent amount of daylight.
5. Henderson Beach State Park
17000 Emerald Coast Pkwy, Destin, FL 32541
If you’re visiting Destin during the off-season (October-March), Henderson Beach State Park is a great place to watch the sun go down over the Gulf of Mexico. During the summer months, the sun sets over the tip of the peninsula and the sunset view is obstructed by buildings, so for summer travelers we recommend visiting any of the other 4 sunset locations.

Even though the sun doesn’t set over the Gulf of Mexico in the summer, it will often paint the sky in beautiful colors—especially in early and late summer, so don’t hesitate to plan ahead and make your Destin sunset experience unforgettable.
