Restaurants

Burrito Del Sol

https://www.toasttab.com/burrito-del-sol-destin-517-harbor-blvd/v3 – Best lunch location hands down.  Flavors are bursting while still tasting fresh.

La Famiglia

https://www.facebook.com/La-Famiglia-Italian-Restaurant-Located-by-The-Destin-Walmart-2261537600800133/Italian food that feels authentic.  INCREDIBLY flavorful food.  Italian mother cooks in the back and the two daughters run the front.  Pay the extra $4 for homemade pasta.  It’s worth it

McGuires

https://www.mcguiresirishpub.com/ Food is decent but the experience is what you go for.  $2MM in dollar bills taped to the walls and ceiling.  PRIME steaks, a $100 burger, and a $0.18 soup.

The Pancakery

https://thepancakery.com/  – Great variety of breakfast food.  Has 4 different types of eggs benedict.  Omelettes are huge.  Just about everything comes with a side of pancakes.

Nightlife

AJ's Seafood and Oyster Bar

https://ajsdestin.com/ – AJ’s has a large expansive deck and great views of the harbor.  Make sure you arrive early enough to get a parking spot

Cafe Thirty-A

https://cafethirtya.com/ Fishbone, the restaurant’s bar, serves specialty martinis and has an expansive wine list with quite a few good champagnes. Outdoor dining is also available on the open deck.

Red Door Saloon

http://www.thereddoorsaloon.com/ – This is the favorite place of locals because the bartenders are great, price is reasonable, and the atmosphere gives good vibes.

Lucky's Rotten Apple

https://www.facebook.com/rottenappledestin/ – Lucky’s is central to a few other very popular bars and has a great outdoor seating area.  Best if you’re looking for a hole in the wall grungy atmosphere, pool tables, and cheap drinks.

Things to Do

Destin Harbor Boardwalk

https://destinboardwalk.com/ – A great way to experience Destin on a budget.  This is considered the heart of “the world’s luckiest fishing village”.  Soak in the culture while you window shop.

Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park

https://www.gulfarium.com/ – Great if you’re looking for an activity the kids will love.  Get up close and personal with dolphins, stingrays, alligators, and turtles.

Big Kahuna’s Water Park

https://bigkahunas.com/– Dozens of watereslides for the kids and a cabana for the adults if you’re idea of vacation is relaxing.

Crab Island

https://www.destinvacationboatrentals.com/blog-post/crab-island-the-complete-visitors-guide-to-destins-most-popular-hangout/ –  This place is only reachable by boat so it can be a bit pricier if you need to rent (see link).  Crab Island isn’t actually an island but a sandbar that has floating attractions and places to eat.  This is probably the most unique experience to Destin and the one thing people talk most about.
